Alma Mater film screening

At age 34, Pamela is a tiny and timid woman. She works as a cashier at a supermarket in Montevideo. She attends a religious temple led by a Brazilian pastor. She is addicted to sweets. She visits her autistic mother on a regular basis. She is an anonymous character with a lackluster life. Suddenly, a miracle occurs. Pamela begins to receive messages of a wonderful future through unusual channels: a mysterious customer, a kind and charismatic transvestite, dreams, barcodes, real and imaginary signs. The Savior of the next millennium is on his way and she, a virgin, could very possibly be The Chosen One to bring him forth into the world. Is this possible? If so, why is she the one? And if it must be so, how will she be able to bear the weight of the divine mission? A paradox occurs in this journey: the more mystical Pamela becomes, the more human she becomes.
