Dank Haus German cultural center in Chicago presents its annual MaiFest, a traditional German festival in Lincoln Square neighborhood feature food, dancing, and German Gemutlichkeit.
At Maifest, performers wear traditional German clothes while enjoy and sport summer T-shirts that celebrate their German heritage.
The opening program on June 1 features keg tapping to get beer out of a keg. On Sunday, the festival includes special ethnic German programming that will give you more insights on German customs and traditions.
German Maifest 2017 is free to attend and will take place June 1-4, 2017 at the corner of Leland and Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. The festival is accessible by CTA train Brown line Western stop and the Western Avenue bus.
