Event Review: Tings A Gwaan – A Celebration of Jamaican & Caribbean Culture

We’re still buzzing with the incredible energy from our recent event, Tings A Gwaan.  Everyone who attended felt the impact of this celebration on Jamaican and Caribbean culture.

The highlight of the day was the mesmerizing dub poetry performance by the award-winning Ras Takura. His spoken words came to life with rhythm and emotion, touching on themes that resonated deeply with our audience’s connection to food and Jamaican history.

But that’s not all that made the event unforgettable. Attendees were treated to a taste of ital soup – a Rasta vegetarian dish made of yams, potatoes, and lentils. It was more than just a meal; it was a culinary journey through the flavors of the Caribbean.

And speaking of flavors, our marketplace featured hats, custom-designed t-shirts, soaps, and plant-based superfoods from Jamaica and the Caribbean.  Our online store is still open, so you can still snag these unique t-shirts if you missed out.

Tings A Gwaan wasn’t just an event; it was an experience that brought people together to celebrate, connect, and immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of Jamaican and Caribbean culture. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and supported us. Your presence made this event truly special.

Stay tuned for more exciting events, collaborations, and opportunities to connect with diverse cultures. Until then, keep the spirit of Tings A Gwaan alive in your hearts!
